Seeds of Love is a small, but growing, group of family and friends who volunteer their time to make the world a better place.

Three generations of gving back.
Joanne D’Errico instilled a strong belief in giving to others to her two daughters, Jennifer and Danielle back in the early 1980’s when she started planning fundraisers for the Manhattan Special Olympics. Years later, Danielle started to volunteer with New York Cares. She cleaned the lake at Flushing Meadow Park and tried to help abandoned dogs find good homes by walking them around the streets of Queens, New York.

She recorded books at The Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic New York Unit , and volunteered to work the registration table at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Washington Heights, New York. She didn’t know what she was getting into when she signed up for the Relay project and was surprised to see families arriving to the New Balance Track and Field Center with sleeping bags and pillows. It turns out that people were there to participate in an overnight event to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. She learned that this event was held to honor cancer survivors and remember family members and friends who lost their battle with this terrible disease. It was this project that touched her the most. And so, they officially began this journey in June 2007, by forming three teams to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Astoria, New York. Family and friends got together to raise money and volunteer at this event. They are proud to announce that Seeds of Love raised over $13,000 for the American Cancer Society at this event.

Since sprouting in June 2007, Seeds of Love has not stopped planting seeds! They have been collecting donated goods and turning overstock items into cash donations. They plan on continuing to plant seeds of love and hope, wherever they can, one seed at a time.
